Check out our latest DIY and home improvement projects. From a fresh coat of paint to a full kitchen renovation, we’re always doing something to make our house a home.
All things design, shopping, and a whole lot of ideas to inspire you. The beauty is often in the details and we’re obsessively looking to find them.
It’s not all drywall dust and design revisions. Sometimes we travel, whip up a new recipe, and enthusiastically talk about how much we love our dogs.

Thinking about how an entire house is going to look is overwhelming.
I like to create a thing I call a style guide to start organizing and finessing all of my ideas.
If you don’t already know, a brand style guide is a document that combines your hopes, dreams and goals with your aesthetic to ensure your presentation to the world is consistent. It serves as a helpful tool to look back on if you ever feel lost in your branding or decorating process.
Before getting in to the visuals, I think about words to guide me through how I want the house to feel and really just try to articulate what I’m trying to accomplish with the project.
Mission + Vision
Our mission for this house is truly to honor my Uncle’s wish to keep it in the family and to create a space that our entire family can enjoy. We want this house to be a place that is inviting and relaxing. As far as style goes, I want to pull inspiration from my family—childhood memories, inside jokes, and sentimental little tchotchkes.
I’ve been struggling to find inspiration that really aligns with my vision, but the eclectic mixes of high-end and approachable is where we want to end up with the Florida House.
Bring on the MCM-inspired walnut wood tones, polished nickel, and pops of funky color. We’ll mix that vibe with organic modern, lots of texture and cozy textiles.
The most fun part of this style guide exercise is putting it all together! I have a lot more rooms to work on, but I’m loving how the living room and bathroom are shaping up.
